The Bump
It’s been a long, cold winter and the woodland animals are fed up and hungry. When a pile of grain is accidentally spilled in the lane by a passing trailer, it gives Badger an idea. What would happen if the animals built a bump across the road? Everyone works very hard, except Fox, who pretends to be busy and gives lots of instructions. Now they are waiting to see what will come down the lane, and they don’t have to wait very long. “Quick! Hide!” screeches Crow from the tree-tops. “Something’s coming!”
This is an exciting and very funny story for young children. They will love waiting to see what drops into the lane, and how the animals use these items. The ending shows the importance of recycling.

The Camel Who Wanted to Play the Saxophone
This is a gentle story thought of a time I was practising playing my saxophone, looked upon by inquisitive camels. They are beautiful, gentle creatures, and even quite intelligent. So why couldn’t one of them have an adventure alongside some of the really friendly local people? They too live a much slower pace of life than some of us, but they seem to be far more content. I hope it gives an idea of how we should value people in their diversity.

The Grumpy Squirrel
Why is the little red squirrel so grumpy? Everything had been carefully planned, or so he thought. Much of the autumn had been spent burying his nuts around his beautiful garden ready to be collected once winter arrived. But now winter was here and large ‘things’ had appeared in the garden, a pirate ship, a teepee, a fairy village, a tree house and a huge swing that were now hiding where his precious nuts had been buried. What’s more, whenever he ventured out to search for his collection of nuts, other animals were there to scare him away. He couldn’t understand where they had come from, a fox, a dog, a cat and a very scary owl all tried to catch him. The Leopine and The Kumeer
In a distant far off country in The Used to Be Wild West, there is a ruler called The Kumeer. Not a particularly nice person, he shouts a lot, he doesn’t consider the people who work for him and he is generally disliked by his subjects.
One day he meets a Leopine. A ferocious-looking animal, with a heart of gold and very concerned about right and wrong. He confronts the Kumeer and threatens to do all sorts of nasty things to him if he doesn’t change his ways. The Kumeer, so scared of the Leopine, immediately becomes a caring considerate ruler, and finds out, surprisingly, that he much prefers his new way of life to his previous one. A story that shows that all people deserve consideration and respect no matter who, or what they are.
